Acerca deste filme

Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, and Rachel McAdams lead a critically acclaimed cast in this gripping true story about the Pulitzer Prize-winning investigation that uncovered a scandal that rocked one of the world's oldest and most trusted institutions. Delving into allegations of child abuse within the local Catholic Archdiocese, a tenacious team of Boston Globe reporters exposes a decades-long cover-up that reaches the highest levels of Boston's religious, legal, and government establishment. "Brilliantly acted and flawlessly directed" (New York Post ) Spotlight is a powerful and riveting drama the critics are calling "the All the President's Men of our time" (Los Angeles Times). This was amazing story telling. From the fact that it was base in reality, to the terrific non-acting by all the main stars AND the victims that were "Spotlighted". It deserves to be viral and expose the corruption not only of men but of the institutions that they create and run. Especially poignant performances from Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, Stanly Tucci, and (especially for me) Liev Schreiber highlighted a stellar cast. Excellent writing combined with great performances and direction that gave this very real feel to a culture and a newspaper industry that we probably will not see again in our life, with the way that the Internet media has evolved and print has declined.

A really good movie depicting the deception and corruption in the Catholic churches. I'm honestly not sure how the Catholic church still exists after such a scandal. As a local Bostonian I am ashamed of the number of locals that turned their backs on this, for the sake of religion. It's also very upsetting how the press was mislead, and blocked from, the truth.

This movie is captivating from the first word to the last. The horror of this movie is worse than anything Wes Craven could come up with. My heart breaks again for all the people hurt by abusive criminal priests. This is a film that will live on... thank goodness there is a chance for all victims of abuse to know we are now paying attention & we all share in the responsibility of ignoring their pain & I am so sorry. Heartbroken.
