About this movie

When conservative, Texas church-choir director Maybelline inherits her recently deceased son's drag club, she surprises her closed-minded husband and everyone else she knows by moving alone to San Francisco to save the club from bankruptcy. In this raucous, racy new environment, she begins to open up and find new meaning for her life, even becoming a mother-figure to the club's flamboyant performers ...until a surprise visit threatens to upend her new life.

A Must Watch ! No matter what color of the "rainbow" you claim, this movie guarantees to make you smile, laugh and possibly even shed a tear or two. Wasn't expecting it to be as good as it turned out to be, and I was pleasantly surprised. You'll be glad you at least rented this one. My opinion....buy it straight out. Refreshingly funny and warm.

This a great "little" movie.A glimpse into other unknown lives for most of us. Most of all, it's human and well-acted -directed -edited -written. I hate having feelings most times but am glad I cried for this one.

I really didn't expect to come away with anything from this movie but I did. When the credits were rolling I had to wonder how many people no matter what their age go through this everyday around the world. Separated from their families because their families are embarrassed and shun them and are more worried about what their friends and community might say or think about them rather than their own flesh and blood. It is thought provoking and after all isn't that what a movie is supposed to do?
