It is the 23rd century. The Federation Starship U.S.S. EnterpriseTM is on routine training maneuvers and Admiral James T. I still regard this as being by far the greatest Star Trek movie ever created. Ricardo Montalban absolutely steals the show with one of the most memorable villain performances ever brought onto the silver screen. Excellent direction by Nicholas Meyer and one of the best Star Trek soundtracks in history by James Horner. If JJ Abrams wants to make a truly unforgettable Star Trek movie for the ages, this is the one to aspire to in my opinion. Brilliant! "KHAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!" 😎👍

Considered the best movie of the series for good reasons. Harve Bennett went back to the source material and finally produced a movie, and a villain, that the franchise deserved. Fantastic cast, compelling story, excellent score and great special effects.

With its heart, soul and genuine sense of wonderment, this makes J.J. Abrams' reboots look like the brain-dead, superficial baubles they are.
