The peace theme is a bit cheesy, especially the execution, but it had to come in light of TNG with a klingon officer on board. Love Meyer's way (like in II) of making you feel like you're on a true military vessel. Definitely approaching retirement for this crew, but they still handled themselves and the ship well.

The opening scene is completely AWESOME!!! I was so excited to be at the theatre to see yet another masterpiece as a huge TREKIE. I remember thinking, as the opening scene played and that awesome explosion hits, " This is going to be the best film ever!!!". And from that point on it was complete trash. This is the only STAR TREK film I watched only one time. Yeah, big disappointment, but, you should at least give it a try. Especially if you love IV & V. But, I'm telling ya, it's pretty bad. :(

Are these other reviews serious? This is widely understood to be the worst Star Trek film in existence, and along with Sharknado, is among the top ten worst sci fi movies of all time. Spoiler - continued obsession with Spock, his brother is a religious fanatic, they go to the center of the galaxy to find Good, only when they find him, he's really the Devil. Seriously? We should have expected this from Shatner's first directorial experience.
