Much better than the other two prequels with a much darker tone. Some good action scenes but otherwise pretty poor. The acting/dialogue is as cringe-inducing as ever and the key scenes that lead to A New Hope are badly done! Anakin turns to the Dark Side in just a couple of minutes, going from father to be to child genocide in the blink of an eye! Obi-Wan beats Anakin by standing on a hill and Vader screams "Noooooooooooo" in what undoubtedly emasculated him to all who watched! The Jedi die without a fight

The unpredictable surprise element of Star Wars movies was lost for the most part of the prequel trilogy. Never more so than for its final act, contrived and over choreographed sword fights. Character decisions that make zero sense whatsoever other than fall into place to serve the situations and consequences we already saw in the original trilogy. Even John Williams can't save this uninspired outing but it has a few decent dramatic moments to enjoy that'll make it worth sticking with. 😑

It's the best of the three prequels but that's more to do with how bad the other two are and not how good this one is. Like episodes 1 and 2, it's poorly written with wafer thin characters, terrible special effects and laughable acting. Anakin's character doesn't have an arc, it's a right angle. A joke on release, worse now. Avoid.
