Following a secret plan the government began closing coal mines, which threatened not just an industry but whole communities and a way of life. 160,000 miners took up the fight and became part of a battle that would change the course of history. Featuring never-before-seen archive footage, this gripping documentary follows the incredible true story of the miners on the frontline. With moving and often funny contributions from miners wives and supporters including the real life story behind hit film 'Pride' this is a chronicle both of personal drama and of events that shaped the world today. Best account of the great miners strike of 1984/85 from the prospective of those on strike and their supporters. Don't think this is your typical dry documentary.......It's told with passion, pride and emotion, it uses lots of archive footage and will make you laugh and cry in equal measure. The lessons of this struggle are more relivent today than ever. Do yourself a favour and watch it.

Everyone should watch this and learn something.
