When young doctor Edward Newgate arrives at Stonehearst Asylum in search of an apprenticeship, he is warmly welcomed by superintendent Dr. Lamb and a mesmerizing woman by the name of Eliza Graves. Newgate is intrigued by Lamb's modern methods of treating the insane until a series of unusual events leads him to make a horrifying discovery, exposing Lamb's utopia and pushing Newgate to the limits of his conscience. Possibly one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Not sure what was worse, Kate Beckinsales acting or the blank look she had on her face throughout the entire film. The script is so bad its actually funny.

It was much better than I was expecting. I connected with this very much. I really loved it. All the acting was top notch as well. As to be expected from such brilliant actors (a biased opinion of course, I like these actors.) I felt the emotions and feelings to be true, I was totally absorbed by this.
