About this movie

Straight Outta Compton tells the true story of how five young cultural rebels - armed only with their lyrics, swagger, bravado and raw talent - stood up to the authorities that meant to keep them down and formed the world's most dangerous group, N.W.A. And as they spoke the truth that no one had before and exposed life in the hood, their voice ignited a social revolution that is still reverberating today.

I love this movie... Being a fan of Rap music in the late 80's - mid 90's some of the greatest lyrical raw culture that put the listener on that block- What a special time in music during that period.... Look for Ice Cube's son's amazing job with his acting, playing his dad. We love to get his take on his experience. Source from FanSided... Aldis Hodge portrayed MC Ren in Straight Outta Compton and he was our Michonne’s boyfriend Mike in her flashback. Dr. Dre, Corey Hawkins, is our new supply runner from Alexandria, Heath, in season 6. Eugene fully respects his hair game. His hair game and glasses make it difficult to recognize Heath is the same person as Dr. Dre. The hilarious Yella is the non-smiling Guillermo from the Vatos. Neil Brown Jr. played the janitor of the nursing home who took on the leadership role to help the nurses and staff protect the old people who were abandoned there when the dead took over. Already seen it 3 times but still bought it.. required in Google movie library!

They painted a picture where only Easy E did things wrong and that Ice Cube and Dre were like superheros. And certain things in the movie never happened in real life. (Never even mentioned Dre's domestic abuse case) As a cinematic experience it was awesome but, for facts not so much.

Today's climate with it's lack of racial empathy and inequality can be seen in this movie. It reminds us that today's events aren't new, but still denied, and lacking justice. With video becoming readily available we're taken back to the Rodney King beating and the 4 officers being acquitted. Today we still deal with the abuses of authority to the detriment of those without it. Relevant for today indeed...
