Enquanto trabalham no subsolo para consertar um cano principal de água, os encanadores do Brooklyn, Mario (Chris Pratt; franquias Jurassic World e LEGO Filme) e o irmão Luigi (Charlie Day; It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) são transportados por um cano misterioso e vagam por um novo mundo mágico. Mas quando os irmãos se separam, Mario embarca em uma jornada épica para encontrar Luigi. Com a ajuda de um Sapo residente do Reino do Cogumelo (Keegan-Michael Key; O Rei Leão) e algum treinamento da governante obstinada do Reino do Cogumelo, a Princesa Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy; O Gambito da Rainha), Mario explora seu próprio poder.

Classificações e críticas

My kids loved it. My wife and I liked it. Not sure why critic scores are so mixed/low. It's a fun popcorn kids movie - the plot is simple yes. The movie is fun, eye candy, with some laughs - and has plenty of comedy and nostalgia for parents as well. There are a couple Luigi moments in the Dark Lands that might be considered scary for some really little kids (under 5). But other than that - it's pretty light. Perfect family and kids movie.

It’s a fun movie to watch and animation is great but story and some voices throw me off. Also did the music. They should recast some of them. I hope the next is way better. I give this movie a 7/10

WA-HOO! The Super Mario Bros. Movie is a total 1-UP Movie of the year! The Super Mario Bros. Movie delivers a total blast of nostalgia from the old-school Mario games and the latest newer ones. The movie also brings back iconic moments from the games and they incorporate it into the movie so good and deliver it so well. Honestly, All I have to say about this film is basically, 'I haven't felt this way since Sonic 2 released' 10/10 Movie, must watch. Let's-a-Go!
