Christopher Reeve, Gene Hackman, and Margot Kidder return in this blockbuster sequel to one of the most beloved superhero movies ever made. On the verge of giving up his powers for love, Superman (Reeve) is confronted by three super-criminals from his home planet who have escaped imprisonment and come to Earth with the same abilities as the man of steel. Imperious insurrectionist General Zod (Terence Stamp), seductive but sadistic Ursa (Sarah Douglas), and mute brute Non (Jack O'Halloran) challenge Superman to a cosmic battle for world supremacy--just as Superman and Lois Lane (Kidder) finally get romantically involved.

Richard Lester's Superman 2 is a good Superman movie, better than his Superman 3 and his horrible Superman 4: The Quest for Peace. But not better than Richard Donner's Superman 1978 and Superman 2: The Richard Donner Cut. The Richard Donner Cut is the true Superman 2. In other words, Richard Donner is a better director than Richard Lester.

Definitely the best superman movie that I personally have ever seen. An excellent comedious all around film that I say can be watched with kids 8+. Also this general Zod is way better than that fat guy whos been in the new films.

i'm not so sure the donner cut is best since much is unfished or reworked
