Director Richard Donner began shooting his vision of Superman II while concurrently filming Superman The Movie - his never-before-seen vision has a totally different beginning and resolution and includes so many changes, large and small, that this Superman II is an eye-opening alternate experience.

The "S" could be "S"uperman, or a well-disguised etymologic "S"atan. Even superman's story resembles Ol' Nick being vanquished from heaven - I mean exile from Krypton. Fancy name for a masquerade.

I was part of the online campaign to get this version released on DVD. When I finally got to see it in all its glory I never went back to the Lester version ever. Marlon Brando's restored scenes, Terance Stamp's more gleefully aggressive Zod and the superbly restored opening and closing sequences made this one of the best superhero sequels ever belatedly released. A real gem of a Directors Cut.

The composition wasn't smooth in terms of scenes and others. Sorry
