When owning and operating Surrogates become as common place as Cellphones, the escape or detachment from life is almost complete. Someone asked why we don't see the poor or how the poor could afford a surrogate. Here is my answer; As surrogate society lost the need for usual biological activities, like eating or using the restroom in public, the poor and impoverished had less and less access to public utilities, and nothing to feed off of because nothing is wasted, so I can see why we don't find the poor looking for handouts on the streets. There are no handouts, no breadcrumbs, no loose change, no public toilets, because the surrogate do not need those to live. The other possibility is that old models are tossed out and donated to the poor.

In a "real" near future world, Facebook personas add enhanced surrogate bodies to allow us to safely veg out in our cocoons like having a permanent lost weekend. Until things go wrong. Or right, depending on your perspective. Fair acting and a great concept.
