Father Morris is a dissatisfied priest who has not been happy with his job for some time. After hearing another unremorseful and untruthful confession from a parishioner who is cheating on his wife, a quick-witted teenager, Amber, comes into his confessional and starts to turn Father Morris’s life upside down. Amber questions everything Father Morris stands for, and begins to get under his skin in a way that hasn’t happened before. Throughout the evening, interesting characters pass through Father Morris’s confessional as he reflects on what matters most in life and continues to quip with Amber, who slowly reveals why she came to confession.

Surviving confession discusses a bold theme - role of confession without guilt. All characters exhibit the same attitude towards life and the vacillations of protagonist’s character trying to be true to his job and at the same time, fighting the belief systems in the modern world is portrayed well. Amber brings freshness to the film. Her attitude towards the whole system of confessions and the way she deals with her own problem is heart touching. The climax is the most effective part of the film. It was handled well. All in All a good watch.

I always love discovering hidden gems away from mainstream film and Surviving Confession is definitely one of those gems. There are a lot of retread themes when it comes to religion in film and this film was a pleasant surprise in that regard. The characters are original with fresh perspectives in the religious thought space and the acting is superb. I can't recommend this film enough!

Great movie! Don’t let the movie only having one main location dissuade you. For the most part, the pacing works well and I was surprised it kept me so engaged. While I was laughing throughout most of the movie, it’s also a very deep drama with great characters and amazing dialogue. Great movie for those who like to be challenged personally. Highly recommend.
