About this movie

Set in modern day India, Swades is a film that tackles the issues that development throws up on a grass root level. It is to this India, which is colorful, heterogeneous and complex that Mohan Bhargava (Shah Rukh Khan), a bright young scientist working as a project manager in NASA, returns to on a quest to find his childhood nanny. The film uses the contrast between the highly developed world of NASA, which has been at the forefront of advances in space research, and this world back home in India, which is at the crossroads of development. Mohan's simple quest becomes the journey that every one of us goes through in search of that metaphysical and elusive place called 'home'.

This is not a review of the movie but of the downloaded file. there is a problem in dubbing. Video runs faster than the audio. And also the movie is not complete. The end part is missing. I am not at all satisfied with this. I have checked . There is no problem in my handset. It has enough memory space . I have downloaded the standard version only. Still this glitch is there. When the customer is paying 290 bucks to download the movie, this is certainly not expected. Developers, have this fixed......

A truly captivating movie with a delightful message. It captures the essence and heart of India without demeaning her problems. Shahrukh Khan at his utter best supported by wonderful supporting roles. A must watch.

A timeless classic directed with a deft touch! A superior musical score blending seamlessly with a simple yarn about the Indian middle class yearning for the American dream and what lies at the end of the rainbow. The fragrance of the mitti is unmistakable!
