Swallows and Amazons follows the Walkers, four children dreaming of an escape from the tedium of a summer holiday with their mother. When finally given permission to camp on their own on a remote island in the middle of a vast lake, they are overjoyed. But when they get there they discover they may not be alone... As they battle for ownership of the island, they learn the skills of survival and the value of friendship, which helps prepare them for the real danger they must face from the adult world. Steeped in the wonder of a child's imagination and set against the breath-taking backdrop of the Lake District, this is an exhilarating adaptation of a treasured classic.

Mix up the story to add spy's is a shame, but passable. Change all the characters too? Why bother calling it Swallows and Amazon's? John wouldn't lie, or shout at Roger. Suzanne would never argue with John. Nancy isn't a stroppy or moody. Really disappointed with this movie.

Lacks excitement and has no tension, a result of poor direction and horrible clunky dialogue, the actors are ok but the script renders them desperate at times. A story that did not need another adaptation that brings nothing new.

i am going to get it right now and lay back for another 1 hour or longer and watch this film i have to rate it soo then i can put this down so you guys can see what i have wrote soo i just put full stars because it looks that good
