About this movie

Ethan Smith works as a rock & roll DJ for a radio station in Seattle. It’s a great gig, but doesn’t exactly pay him a living wage. In the same building is a conservative radio talk show station with a popular local host. When the host goes missing before his show, Ethan steps in and pretends to be a Republican pundit. His fictitious persona, Charles Fern, is an instant hit and becomes “the new voice of right-wing talk radio”. What was meant to be a one-time thing becomes a high-paying job, and Ethan is foisted onto the national stage where he may lose everything- including the love of his life.

After reading the comments, sounds like many reviews are along political lines, with Putin's Putschkins upset as are Trump's Troopers, who give it 1-2 stars, while Clinton's Carpers tend to give it 5 stars even though a lot of the joke's on them. It is not a 5 star movie, but it is funny. So, if you are somewhere between the Trump/Putin ticket and Clinton/whatever-his-name-was gang and have voted for either party from time-to-time, then you are probably going to laugh your grappled p*y off watching this flick which takes jabs at both sides with no mercy. Four stars.

Swing State was such a great film to watch!! I have seen it a few times now and every time it gets better and better! The quality in both picture and sound were fantastic, you can really tell how much effort was put into this project. The original music was delivered wonderfully and fits perfectly with the tone and feeling of the movie. If you want to smile, laugh and see a great story unfold...Swing State is the movie for you! I for one think the dialogue was hilarious and the timing could not have been better considering this upcoming election.

The ideas and dialogue in this movie are both fresh and relevant to what we see going on with this coming up election year. This movie is much more than simply a political presentation of pundits and campaigning, Swing State examines the battle of idealism, financial practicality, and indifference within Millennials. The setting starting off with a Seattle radio station is an excellent platform for introducing a variety of different kinds of music and political humor. Many of the best and most humorous moments in the movie involve tie-ins to music. Beyond the arching themes and obvious musical influences, Swing State is well-written and charming. The characters are enjoyable, the premise is very funny, and the dialogue is crisp and well- timed. Overall a great movie to check out.
