About this movie

A carnage heavy, no holds barred stalk-and-slash fright-fest that recalls the genre's late '70s heyday, Switchblade Romance is an uncompromising and brilliantly unsettling film from writer-director Alexandre Aja. Best friends and holidaying students Marie (Cécile De France) and Alex (Maïwenn) travel to the countryside to visit Alex's parents, but when a homicidal maniac turns up at the house, leaving a trail of corpses in his wake, Alex and Marie are forced to fight for their lives with some heavy-duty weaponry. With a heart-pounding pace as brutal as its husky, truck-driving killer, Switchblade Romance delivers a truly visceral experience. Undoubtedly the film that horror junkies have been waiting for, viewing alone is not advised.

This is a nasty film which delivers edge of the seat tension and gore straight off the top shelf. This film is not for the faint hearted, it is as suggested suitable for 18 or over. The film has a solid story line which gathers pace to the final scene which is brutal. Taking everything until account you may need to watch again, I did. Please note it’s a French subtitled film but don’t let that put you off it’s well worth a watch.

Not as messed up as people might lead you to believe. Still enjoyed it though.
