Kevin Bacon, thank you for taking us on this journey. The loneliness and desolation of Wyoming, with the wind whistling through the pines and the utter vastness void of civilization leaves an impression unspoken through the film of death and loss, of finality and aloneness we will all encounter when its time to go. Live every moment today knowing the people you encounter, and those close to your heart, are approaching that same finality. The young man sacrificed his future and paid the ultimate cost by being in harms way, a choice made by someone outside of himself. May we all have the satisfaction that sacrificing for others brings, and be less concerned for what robs the little bit of time we have to live and show it for others. Kevin's character reflects a universal value we all can relate to. Your time in the movie will be rewarded. Very relatable. Very impressionable. Not a documentary but a true story right down to the true locations where things took place. I did read the conversation with the teen girl on the plane was fictitious but necessary for comic relief. I'm glad to hear that Kevin's quick wit separating marines from soldiers wasn't something Id have to emulate to be as cool as him.

No words can express how deeply moved I was by this portrayal of human compassion. I highly recommend this film. Possibly Mr. Bacon's greatest work. Be prepared to shed lots of tears, as the emotion portrayed is unlike any other film.
