Ognjenka and Mala are two sisters who are professional mourners in a small Serbian village bereft of men after years of long warfare and bloodshed. In an ill-advised attempt to experience a man's touch, they accidentally kill the only surviving male. Cursed by their dead grandmother, they must set off to the city to find and kidnap a replacement man or risk the wrath of the town's women.
