Professor Charlie Thurber (Luke Wilson) loves to teach but can't stand all the politicking that comes with the position. When his candidacy for tenure is announced, he goes out on a limb to prove his worth, but the new teacher on campus (Gretchen Mol) is a shoe-in for the position.
