It's a brilliant movie and still is as good as it gets. The only reason this is a 3 star and not a 5 star is that this version does not have the extended scenes. The Terminator trying to smile, John and Sarah switching on the terminators learning mode, liquid terminator malfunctioning..... It's all missing. Which is a shame and I probably would have skipped the purchase if I had known.

Having been released digitally in 2015 this should have been the extended edition, I love the movie but had I known it didn't include the deleted scenes I wouldn't have purchased this copy.

The first film was an enjoyable example of what director James Cameron could do on a tiny budget. His credits afterwards included such hits as Aliens and The Abyss, so expectations of this movie were high. As hoped, it ended up being miles ahead of its predecessor: smart, exciting, funny, poignant, heartfelt, and executed flawlessly. Perfectly cast, scored, and directed, this is easily one of the greatest sci-fi/action films of all time.
