Way over hyped, big bloated Terminator sequel and not my favorite Arnold role either. What this is for me, besides a handful of truly superb action scenes and some funny kid/Terminator interactions is a mini time capsule. I saw this film opening weekend, I was 12 and I got into the theater late, after the trailers rolled and the auditorium was black. When the screen flashed some light, I saw that it was entirely packed! I stood in the aisle til my eyes adjusted and then found a random empty seat

One of James Cameron's better action sci-fi movies. This wasn't the first use of CGI in a blockbuster, but the first blockbuster to use CGI well. The helpless damsel from the first movie has become an action hero in her own right and is one of the best early female action heroes back when that was still unusual. Plenty of compelling characters despite being an action movie.

It's classic. The effects still hold up today and the story is at this point so ingrained into pop culture that people watching the FIRST Terminator fresh are shocked Arnold's the bad guy. Most of the acting is good (Furlong has a few slips) and the Special Edition actually answers some questions the original cut raised and leaves it near enough to perfect. If not for Cameron's writing. Dude needs a co-writer like Lucas needed Kasdan. His dialogue is just ... really bad. Still holds up, though.
