Judgment Day has come and gone. Modern civilization has been destroyed. An army of Terminators roams the post-apocalyptic landscape, killing or collecting humans where they hide. But small groups of survivors have organized into a Resistance, hiding in underground bunkers and strikingwhen they can against an enemy force that vastly outnumbers them. Only one man saw Judgment Day coming, a man whose destiny has always been intertwined with the fate of human existence: John Connor. But something totally new has shaken Connor's belief that humanity has a chance of winning this war: the appearance of Marcus Wright, a stranger from the past whose last memory is of being on death row before awakening in this strange, new world. If humanity is to survive, Connor must decide whether Marcus can be trusted, and the two must find common ground to make a stand against the onslaught and meet the enemy head on.

...and the Terminator franchise drones on...the Ferrari up on blocks...spinning the wheels backwards - not only accomplishing nothing of interest but seemingly accomplishing this nothing with little direction except the eye-candy of CGI. Time is a nebulous thing playing a role in all that we do whether we pay attention or not. Tying together the first two movies and adding the thrill of humanity to the catch phrases, the chases, and the naked folks stealing clothes was what made T2 peak terminator, so to speak. It seems like this could have been done again, but in an unfortunate turn of cinematic events T3 and T4 are recycled scripts with 1D versions of humanity - actors clearly pretending to be about something they are not.

This movie gets a lot of hate. I just saw the review for it on RottenTomatoes & couldn't believe it. A movie I've enjoyed so much & have seen countless times over the years. In all the Terminator movies they always tease us with the future. In this we finally get it. I always wanted a sequel to this movie set in future to elaborate more, cause it's similar to The Sarah Conner Chronicles (to which I also waited for a sequel all these years!). Unfortunately neither of these will ever get a sequel.

While the technical execution here was pretty decent, the Bale Batman voice wasn't even good in the Batman movies, and I just do not see "the main character yelling for a couple hours" as a solid movie pitch. Some of the Terminator scenes were fun, and a few of the human scenes were decent, but the abjectly stupid nature of almost every major plot point lays waste to any chance this had of being a good movie rather than just a fairly pretty entry in the wait-for-it-to-hit-Google-Play rental garbage bin of cinematic history.
