For what this movie is, it's amazing. It's a throwback to 80's grindhouse and slasher films with the exception that it takes the violence further and hits you harder. It's brutal, disgusting, graphic, and oh boy is it bloody. Art (the clown) gets a ton of screen time as you watch him stalk, murder and torture his victims using every weapon imaginable, with a crazy smile on his face and no real motivation behind his madness. Art never says one word in the movie and the acting is AMAZING on his behalf (the other actors are subpar, but it doesn't take away from the movie). If you're looking for a horror movie that doesn't rely on gimmicky jump scares and CGI animation, then watch this. The visuals, effects, and make up are the best I've seen in awhile. Nothing and nobody is off limits. The amount of violence and gore is endless, all the way up until the end. If you thought IT was scary, this makes it look like a children's bed time story. Move over Pennywise, we have a new king of the killer clowns and he's 10x more brutal and disturbing.

I'm quite a fan of horror films, even of the "so bad they're good" variety, but I just don't really get the hype around this. Sure, the film is a homage to 80s slasher films, but it doesn't at all feel like a classic. The pacing is awkward, and there are a number of really incongruous moments throughout. I didn't enjoy it very much.
