Disaster strikes on Aug. 5, 2010, as a copper and gold mine collapses in Chile, trapping 33 men underground. With more than 2,000 feet of rock in their way, members of a rescue team work tirelessly for 69 days to save the seemingly doomed men. Beneath the rubble, the miners begin an epic quest to survive, contending with suffocating heat and the need for food and water. With family, friends and the rest of the world watching, it becomes a race against time and a test of the human spirit.

It was a good movie. I'm glad I watched it. I agree with another comment that they didn't say much at all about the faith aspect, their faith, as they apparently had a prayer session every day, also supported by the fact that after they got out and were flown all throughout the world, their favorite place and event was when they were baptized in the River Jordon. Also, the movie seemed to put the supervisor in a negative light. Not sure that is supported by reality. Don't know.

I love it when there are all these amateur film aficionado that over analyze a movie. It's simple entertainment. This movie is entertaining, it serves its purpose. Some of the reviews on here are unnecessarily negative and over analyze everything. "This character was to simplex." "Too many characters too focus on". Get over yourselves and enjoy a movie that was simply made to entertain for 90min. You either liked it or not on one wants to read the wanna be Robert Ebert reviews.

This is an amazing story. Nicely acted and hits the major points of the story, though it should have spent more time on the faith aspects. Feels somewhat rushed as 70 days were squeezed into a 2 hour movie. But, I recommend it.
