Four waves of increasingly deadly alien attacks have left most of Earth decimated. Against a backdrop of fear and distrust, Cassie (Chloë Grace Moretz) is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother. As she prepares for the inevitable and lethal 5th wave, Cassie teams up with a young man who may become her final hope – if she can only trust him.

Good start, decent effects, slow middle, bad ending..... Leaving it open for a sequel only tells me that this was only a money maker anyway. As soon as I saw "Evan" I knew there had to be a love interest, typical! It's the end of the world as we know it and we still have time for a quick one in a car! Pathetic! Could have been a solid action film but for the "love", well I'm kissing 😘 that film goodbye!

This film left many questions unanswered and as the film didn't do well at the box office there probably won't be answered at all. Moretz does the best she can with what she has to work with but ultimately she and the cast are let down by a poor story and script. It could have been so much better if the writers had kept to the characters (apparently Cassie in the books is not a "normal" teenager) which are in the books, which incidentally I haven't read but a friend said they are not the same. Started off well but lost itself halfway through. Shame as I was expecting more from this and the tedddy bear must have paid for screen time as IT got more close ups than anyone else.

Now don't get me wrong it wasn't a terrible film but it could have been done so much better! Jumping from one scene to the next one, not giving any details at all is not a good way to make a film. The book is way better than this! So, so , disappointed as I was so looking forward to watching this. Was really pissed off when they took it off at the cinema!
