Here's where I'm coming from: I only have vague memories of the show but
DAMN, I LOVED IT. 80s TV was the BESTEST. But despite the mixed reviews,
had to see this for myself and wanted to at least like it: WOW. THIS WAS SO
LAME. And as someone who watches a lot of movies, studies and writes
movies, I totally mean this as an insult; your IQ must not be that high if
you think this is a good movie. It was all filler, unnecessary swearing,
and unbelievably BORING. Completely devoid of any magic or any decent
dialogue, it's just a whole lot of noise. The only high point was the idiot
fisherman who got blown up because that's what all animal abusers deserve.
The score by Alan Silvestri is also decent. I really wonder at actors who
sign up for movies this bad though. Guess they're short on cash and really
desperate. Thank dog i missed it on the big screen and only paid £1.99 to
see it on Play

Not as good as the original TV series (bear in mind, time improves many things) which I've not seen for a long time. However, this movie version made Murdoch seem quite sane and the rest of the cast were OK. As I got this movie on offer for £1.99, it's still very good for the price and worth a view...

It's not the 80s show. You can't really compare them. That doesn't mean it's not good! I loved every bit of it. I'm so gutted they never made a sequel so you could get properly into the guys doing what they do best. Not going to lie, I was a bit sad that Jon Hamm didn't say his name was Stockwell.
