After witnessing his partner killed in the crossfire of a blackmail scheme gone bad, a low-rent detective links her death to a mysterious suicide at Niagara Falls. Driven to know why, he's drawn into an elaborate conspiracy to control a design torn from the fabled missing notebook of revolutionary inventor, Nikola Tesla.
