The Assistant follows one day in the life of Jane (Emmy® Award winner Julia Garner, Ozark), a recent college graduate and aspiring film producer, who has recently landed her dream job as a junior assistant to a powerful entertainment mogul. But as Jane follows her daily routine, she, and we, grow increasingly aware of the abuse that insidiously colors every aspect of her workday, an accumulation of degradations against which Jane decides to take a stand, only to discover the true depth of the system into which she has entered. Also starring Matthew Macfadyen (Succession), The Assistant is "a powerful movie about the ways power enforces silence" (Vanity Fair).

Pretty bad. I was very much looking forward to this, but there was no storyline whatsoever. I kept waiting for it to pick up, but it was over after 1.5hrs of waiting for something to happen. I wish I had read the reviews before renting it. The only thing I can't understand is how it's at 91% on rotten tomatoes. Don't waste your time. Get a painting of medium grey and look at that instead.

I'm begging you: Please don't watch this movie. It will make you mad at GooglePlay. Nothing kept happening and then, quite suddenly, it ended. Well, we did see a clinically depressed girl eat fruit-loops, microwave her TV dinner, and finally wise up to make a protein powder smoothie. Warning for violence: She got a paper-cut and had to bandage her finger. Ummm... definitely NOT a thriller. Pretty sure you will hate it too.

If I could give it zero stars I would. If you can with stand a movie about an assistant doing boring daily tasks this movie is for you. It has no plot , no music, dialog that I had to turn my 5.2 up to 70 db just to hear them talk on the phone. Thought it would of been good cause I liked her in Ozark on Netflix.. but not so much.
