About this movie

Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman, striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high‐profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens. When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters Selina Kyle/aka Catwoman, Oswald Cobblepot/aka the Penguin, Carmine Falcone, and Edward Nashton/aka the Riddler. As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.

Robert Pattinson's portrayal of Batman was phenomenal; however, his portrayal of Bruce Wayne was average. Luckily, this film had a strong focus on Batman doing what he is actually supposed to do; using his brain and doing detective work. The film has also luckily not suffered the general trend we see all too often lately in movies; being dumbed down to a level of non-stop action with poor script writing and lots of senseless running so a person of average intellect can follow along.

Was not worth the money my friend spent on it. Basically a 5.2 rated serial killer movie embracing some remorseful and depressed guy running around in a batman costume using a old fashioned motorbike on his pursuits. Any batmobil fans will be disappointed too, all shown is all immobile and probably filmed in a Hollywood batman museum - you will never see the old or even new ones moving. Ah, before I forget it, a romance scam is also involved. Nothing to hope for here too as the movie is PG-4 rated (or so). So, if you are already depressed, go on and watch this average movie with a good bottle of something.

Overhyped. Grim, boring, excruciatingly slow - paced entry into the Batman franchise. The editing techniques are distracting and the movie itself is unnecessarily long. The lighting and style that the movie is shot in is dark and very hard for the eyes to engage in. I would of given The Batman 1 star if not for the talent of the cast involved. Nolan's trilogy is perfection.
