Notes et avis

I love the cast and even the director. I had an idea of what I was getting into knowing her past work, but I did not realize that this would be the cure for insomnia. The movie looks good, is acted very well and succeeds on the filmmaking aspect itself. The story is an interesting one but I felt nothing of tension or excitement in anyway. It just builds to what should have been more. More of a pay off.

The trailer made this movie look really interesting but it wasn't at all. I can appreciate a slow moving story but this one had zero character development. It just didn't seem necessary to make it drag on for so long. It was pretty obvious what direction things were moving and you could easily guess what would happen next because it took forever for anything to actually happen. It was a great cast of talented actresses but there weren't really any good scenes. It just dragged on and I figured I'd invested so much time that I might as well finish the movie. I'm glad I didn't pay to see it in the theater.

I shouldn't write a review never having seen this remake; but given that I saw the Clint Eastwood original; I'll just say that since Colin Farrell seems to be into doing remakes (having done Arnold Schwartzenegger's Total Recall) he tends to follow the same path. I doubt there will be much deviation from Clint Eastwood. Spoiler Alert; Eastwood dies at the end of the original. So it likely won't end well for Colin.
