"The Beguiled" is an atmospheric thriller from acclaimed writer/director Sofia Coppola, winner of the Best Director award at the 2017 Cannes International Film Festival. The story unfolds during the Civil War, at a Southern girls' boarding school. Its sheltered young women take in an injured enemy soldier. There's a lot more going on than meets the eye in this atmospheric period piece. Farrell is good; Kidman is better. A steamy and close affair, worth savouring.

The Clint Eastwood version is much better , this was dull, Colin Farell wouldn't have been my choice to play the wounded soldier, not a great actor is he.

Preferred the original but its still an enjoyable watch
