I was really looking forward to watching a fun and well written script. After just five minutes into the film I began to fear the worst as the actors were using unnecessarily poor language "F this and F that." From a context of cultural issues: living in America and trying to maintaining a Pakistani tradition (arranged marriage) was portrayed In a humorous and sometimes uncomfortable situation. Honestly I felt the script was poorly written and I never felt a connection to the actors. Waste of money at the theaters

Interesting story about semi-fresh material. I don't often hear about the struggles of people born into Muslim families who do not resonate with the firmly-held faith and traditions of their parents. Coupled with the drama of the relationship between Kumail and Emily, Emily's illness, and her parents' relationship with each other, Kumail, and Emily, it helps to show the troubles we face as humans, both relationally and physically, and the humor within the mess.

This is such a genuine movie. It isn't the typical romcom. The characters are relatable and, for the most part, likable. This is a movie I had looked forward to seeing for a long time and I am not disappointed. There are alot of comments for this movie that have little to do with the actual movie and more to do politics, religon, etc. Please don't let them scare you off. Just give this movie a chance, and you might find that it is a story you can connect to.
