Humphrey Bogart plays Raymond Chandlers' legendary gumshoe and director Howard Hawkes serves up snappy character encounters (particularly involving Lauren Bacall), brisk pace and atmosphere galore in the certified classic.

Be ware. Poor sound quality. Had phone volume up all the way and casting to my chrome cast. The TV volume was maxed and the sound quality was still very low. The movie itself is good and I'd recommend watching it but perhaps rent it elsewhere.

Simply great Film Noire. It's amazing that L.A. we know so well was once such a well-dressed and stylish city where the sun apparently never came up!

Bogart and Bacall do we need to say more? They are an excellent duo both are extremely good movie actors, with experience on Broadway. They are masters of their craft and because they are married at the time of this film makes their scenes more than spectacular.
