Sobre aquesta pel·lícula

In this contemporary American adaptation of the 1978 outrageous French farce LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, the story centers on the life of a middle-aged, flamboyant gay couple...Armand and Albert...in the eclectic community of South Beach, Florida, who have raised a straight son. The son announces his engagement to the daughter of a right-wing U.S. senator, and wants to bring his fiancee and her ultraconservative parent's home to meet his family for the first time. What choice is there but to accept his decision with love? So Armand and Albert must pretend to be very straight by attempting to play out the roles of your typical heterosexual "husband" and "wife". Of course, as they dig themselves deeper into the deception, the funnier the situations!

It has been 25 years since the release of “The Birdcage”. It is as funny now as it was back then. What scene comes to mind is when Williams gives Azaria off for the night. The scene takes place at the pool. At the beginning of Williams/ Futterman’s conversation, one would think that Futterman is William‘s Boy Toy. That is until Futterman refers to Williams as “Pop. This lets the audience know that it’s a father and son relationship. I am hoping/ waiting for the soundtrack to come out on vinyl. I already have the DVD and Blu-ray versions.

One of the most hilarious movies of time with the most amazing and talented cast. This is one of my favorite movies. What more could you ask for from the hilarious plot of a conservative republican politician and wife meeting this flamboyant out and proud gay male partners that run a Drag Club and now have to pretend to be butch men and straight so their son can get marry his love the politician's daughter. Hank Azaria, Nathan Lane, and Robin Williams at their hysterical best!

Loved this movie, but how can you not with the sadly missed one of a kind talent of Robin Williams as a lead character. Not to lessening the talent other cast members performances. Had some great laughs whilst watching a movie depicting diversity, same sex families and how much parents will go for their children.
