Film honi buruz

Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson star in this inspiring film based on the bestseller about Liesel, (Sophie Nélisse), a girl adopted by a German couple (Rush and Watson) who hide a Jew (Ben Schnetzer) from Hitler's army. Soon Liesel discovers that words and imagination provide an escape from the events unfolding around her family in this extraordinary film directed by Brian Percival (Downton Abbey).

our family was moved by this. primarily the film deals with the oppressions and cruelty of the nazis from a child's point of view although it is a very gentle introduction to these horrors. it provoked some questions. in the end the film is not reaally rooted in the experience of any one character. the opening and closing of the film is narrated by 'death' who sounds like the voice of a cat food commercial. death is very hands off and reluctant to pass judgement on anyone. this means there is no logic or motive for what happens to the characters. this is really a very unfortunate message for a film about nazi germany.

I own both the book and the film. A wonderful film about WWII, tells of a young girl who steals books. I don't want to say too much and spoil it. I absolutely loved the film, Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson as Liesel's parents, the realistic mother and the dreamer father that Rush does so well. You'd be a bloody idiot not to see this film, written by Australian Markus Zusak. I'm telling you to tead the book and watch the film, you will not regret it

This film was made cleverly! yes! did anyone notice how all the actors spoke with a dialect and the occasional 'ja' oder 'nein' were spoken, until toward the end of the movie, the German Soldatten were speaking Deutsch, but there were no Sub Titles!!! SHAME ON YOU SBS!!! lol
