Saw this movie in 1982, in a theater. Watching in 2023 one notices immediately, it has not aged well. The actors are top notch, but the best thing remaining excellent is the soundtrack, by Ry Cooder. A modern version would be excellent with a current reflection of the damage done by Trump in punishing famlies seeking protection from a damagedsystemn in their home countries.They seek better lives, but are punished by another system with no mercy, and deviding children from their parents.
