About this movie

The Boy is a frightening thrill ride directed by William Brent Bell (The Devil Inside) and starring Lauren Cohan ("The Walking Dead"). Greta (Lauren Cohan) is a young American woman who takes a job as a nanny in a remote English village. She soon discovers that the family's 8-year-old is a life-sized doll that they care for just like a real boy, as a way to cope with the death of their son 20 years prior. After violating a list of strict rules, a series of disturbing and inexplicable events bring Greta's worst nightmare to life, leading her to believe that the doll is actually alive. First off, TRIGGER WARNING for those who have dealt with domestic abuse; there is a very small bit of the film in which there are depictions of a man threatening a woman. Hopefully, that can help some either prepare for it, or avoid it altogether. It's really not as bad as other films, but just in case, I wanted to warn those who need it. I hope that helps. Regarding the movie as a whole, I really liked it. The tension is there throughout the movie, and really lends to how the film progresses... There were two REALLY good jump-scares, and wow, did they get me! There's no real gore, although there is some violence. It's rather interesting watching a horror film in which nobody has a gun, and less blood than a nosebleed! The suspense and how the characters react to it is also not quite what I had expected. Anyway, I gave it five stars, because I really liked it!

It wasn't so much a "horror" movie as just a plain Creepy 1 which I love! The slowness is there to build the characters & help u bond with them & use the time & info to speculate what's going to happen, hopefully shock u with scenarios u hadn't thought of. Reminded me of Hitchcock films. Those possibly to immature to get that & think it stupid so they sit laughing with their friends, that's why I rarely go to theaters anymore. Why spend that much money on a movie that's ruined by inconsiderate jerks

Watched the movie last month, it is not stupid at all, very interesting and good. My favorite part is when Brams jumped out the wall. I already knew that it was really a doll she was taking care of. By looking at the preview. I really did not know that it was secret passage ways in the house. That Is how come her clothes got token out of the bath room. But the sad part about it is because at the end she could have just left, but instead she came back, actually for the grocery man, really not Brams, even though she said, she not going to leave him.
