About this movie

Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen. If you think you know this story, think again. From fan favorites Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard comes THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, a mind blowing horror film that turns the genre inside out. © 2011 LIONS GATE FILMS INC. Formulaic, with the excuse that it's deliberately formulaic, is still such a cop out and incredibly dull. Oh, and the "twist" is so silly it's laughable. Atrocious waste of my time which took itself way too seriously. Much better films have deconstructed the genre far more effectively. The idea that this is somehow more intelligent than an average horror speaks volumes about viewers' credulity.

This film looks attractive and sounded like it offered a good plot too. It is horrifying! That is, horrifying that you have wasted your time watching it. The story line is horrendous - absolute nonsense. The cast, I feel, must have questioned how their career lead them to this point whilst filming this. The ending - you begin to question your own sanity by this point, and question whether your watching special effects or an animated feature of visual diarrhoea. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

I watched this on netflix with my boyfriend he thoroughly enjoyed it. I got a bit bored I'm not trying to say anything bad yes it had humour and the monster thing was good but truthfully I've watched a lot of what are called scary movies and it seemed just as cliche as every other horror movie I've seen and I got more scared reading goosebumps as a kid. If you like cheesy horrors then this is the film for you.
