Return to the magic and wonder of C. S. Lewis' epic world in this third installment of the beloved Chronicles of Narnia fantasy-adventure series. When Lucy and Edmund Pevensie, along with their cousin Eustace, are swallowed into a painting and transported back to Narnia, they join King Caspian and a noble mouse named Reepicheep aboard the magnificent ship The Dawn Treader. I understand that books and movies frequently differ in some ways. This however was a totally different plot (not minor details, but driving plot points) and invented characters, aside from being boring. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the actor who portrayed Eustace did an excellent job as that character. Save yourself the time. If you want a well-constructed, sea-faring epic with magic, a dragon, redemption, a sassy talking mouse, and adventure...read the book.

It was an ok movie, It's just that after having read the book the voyage of the dawn treader It was impossible not to feel let down from this movie. There were no mystical swords to collect, or darkness to fight, They visited the islands out of order, left out some islands altogether, and combined together several more. They failed quite masterfully to gather the utter longevity of their journey or how many times they almost died on the voyage. Eustice was also a dragon for far to long, and he never was the hero of the story. Although he did become less of a sop. There are also so many wonderful things they just left out entirely like the Under sea city, the under sea people, the naming of the islands, Prince Caspians Tantrum at not being able to go to Aslans country, Eustice trying to kill the Sea Serpent with a sword(and failing miserably), The real way the defeated the sea serpent by tricking it in a fantastic way, and more. I honestly felt that If I had not read the books I would have been completely lost in several of the scenes. For instance the scene where reepicheep catches Eustace stealing an orange, was really him stealing water, during water rationing.

This movie got changed way too much. After a new director took on this movie, he changed too much. Who would even change Caspian voice!? Big mess up there, made things unrealistic. Eustis was the best part of the movie. More action needed. I found it a bit corny. After resent becoming a huge lotr fan, it defiantly tore my opinion for narnia down. If they make a fourth one, I hope they put better work into it.
