À propos de ce film

Francis Ford Coppola's provoking mystery-thriller stars Gene Hackman as Harry Caul, an expert surveillance man. A routine wiretapping job turns into a nightmare when Harry hears something disturbing in his recording of a young couple in a park. His investigation of the tape and how it might be used sends Harry spiraling into a web of secrecy, murder and paranoia.

This was really awful. Much of the dialog cannot be heard or understood due to bad recording on the set. There is no suspense or thrill in this boring, way too long movie. There is an unsuspected twist at the end but the movie could have been half the length that it is without hurting the plot. Don't waste your money like I did.

The acting gets better as the story orogresses. The plot however moves slowly, and the soundtrack is monotonous at best...still the suspense adds up to an interesting watch.

This is a great movie, inspired audio techniques. The reason for quiet audio on conversations is phycological- it is in itself a narrative to flesh-in Harry Caul's experiences and challenges. The audio is also meant to present a realistic experience, and that really does add to the film. Audio is a major theme here, you have to look at it for it's truly challenging nature. The more I watch this movie the closer I get to saying masterpiece, but that's reserved for the very best.. soon .
