I do not think that Fitzgerald would have approved of this adaptation at all. He intended for the story to be silly and fun. It was written on the premise of, nearly verbatim, "what is the silliest thing I can write about?" When Benjamin Button is born he is an adult-sized elderly man and the mother is bewildered rather than killed in childbirth. The comedy is removed for cheap tearjerking moments. Pretend the original Willy Wonka film was a hardened drama. It just doesn't work.

A little drawn out for my style. However, who doesn't enjoy watching Brad Pitt in a leading role? This flick had a great message about life in general. Some parts were a bit slow and drawn out but I must say beautifully done. I was brought to tears a few times during this movie. It's not a movie i would want to watch again, but there was some good take-away's.

Unbelievably long movie, that at least the 1st 90 minutes could have been cut killed it for me and my friends. So much unnecessary fluff (drama) until he finally began to grow younger and things began to move along. Agonizing to sit that long and stay awake to understand why this old man/baby was as he was could've been clear in 15 mins. The last hour was clear and woulda been enough 4 a great film. Felt like a play on Forrest Gump without the excellence. Needed better story telling for film. Actors were awesome.
