A movie about three brothers attempting to reunite as brothers as well as become best friends by experiencing a spiritual awakening while traveling through India. The eldest brother controls the group, but has a secret agenda to reunite them with their mother. The brothers recently lost their father and are traveling with an inordinate amount of his monogrammed luggage. Looking through other reviews, it seems that the metaphor of the luggage was overlooked. So if you watch this movie, pay attention to the luggage! It's hard to classify this as a drama, a comedy or even a dramedy, but somewhere between all that. It is however, punctuated by a few funny moments that keep it going. Thought I expected more laugh-out-loud comedic moments than the movie delivered, it was nonetheless definitely worth watching.

My friends insisted we watch this one. They said it would make me like Wes Anderson. They were wrong. (Mr. Fox forever, though) (a busted clock is right twice a day)

Personally, not one of my favorite Wes Anderson films but still ranks among the best in my collection. Cinematography is, as always, pristine and the dark comedy, understatement, and social ineptitude of the characters combines with the whimsical storyline to produce an amusing couple of hours and more than a few chuckles.
