Good-hearted cowboy Billy Carson (Buster Crabbe) is arrested when he is confused with Drifter Davis (also Crabbe), a look-alike bank robber. Once he's released, Billy pretends to be Davis in order to foil the criminal's next heist. But, at the traveling medicine show Davis uses as a cover for his crimes, Billy encounters his old friend, Fuzzy Q. Jones (Al "Fuzzy" St. John), who also mistakes him for Davis and takes him back to jail -- where Fuzzy inadvertently releases the real criminal.
