The latest film from the acclaimed director Theo Angelopoulos is an epic story of love and memory that begins in 1953 and journeys across the world and the great realm of history to the present day. Willem Dafoe (Antichrist) stars as an American filmmaker of Greek descent making a film about his mother's (Irene Jacob, Three Colours Red) extraordinary quest to reunite with her husband in America. This moving tale, rendered with visually stunning images, poetically reflects upon the tumultuous events of the last century and features superb performances from Bruno Ganz (Downfall) and Michel Piccoli (La Belle Noiseuse).
