THE EMPTY MAN is a supernatural horror film filled with action, suspense and sheer terror! After teenagers from a small Midwestern town begin to mysteriously vanish, the locals begin to suspect that their disappearances may somehow be tied to a terrifying local legend. Thrust out of retirement, James Lasombra (James Badge Dale), a troubled former cop still reeling from the deaths of his own wife and son, begins to investigate the events that have shaken this community. Things take a bizarre turn when Lasombra discovers a secretive group of occultists who seem to be attempting to bring forth a horrific, mystical entity. Before long, Lasombra realizes that his life - and the lives of those close to him - are in terrible danger in this white-knuckle chiller. THE EMPTY MAN also stars Marin Ireland, Stephen Root, Ron Canada, Robert Aramayo, Joel Courtney and Sasha Frolova. Directed by David Prior from his screen story and screenplay based on Cullen Bunn's novel.

Very sad how much this film got thrown away. Cause it's much better then a lot of rubbish horrors these days like Halloween. has very big Babadook vibes meaning its one of them movies where you question if there actually is something supernatural or it's just all inside the characters heads. And wow the first 20 minuets are a whole movie in itself and would've loved for it to go longer. It's on Disney plus so give it a watch

I don't rate movies ever, but this one needed the rating. The start was absolutely perfect, and if they'd kept that first story line it would have been an incredible horror... instead it's based around angsty teenagers being angsty and a moody detective being moody. Fairly certain Stephanie Myer already gave that plot a crack... 10/10 do not recommend.

First 20mins are so good but then it's a jumbled mess and poorly explained plot , characters are lacking because they spent so much time putting 3 stories into one movie. Ending is just one of the worst I have ever watched .
