About this movie

Stranded in the middle of nowhere, five strangers find themselves marooned in a deserted roadside diner. An arrogant businessman, (Steve "Sting" Borden), a lonely single woman, (Jaci Velasquez), a couple on the verge of divorce, and a youthful runaway all come face to face with a diner owner who serves them more than temporal nourishment. This genial host is a certain Nazarene, (Bruce Marchiano) who knows all of their secrets and possesses the answers to all of their problems -- if only they would trust him. It is a miraculous Encounter that will leave them all changed.

The Encounter, awarded "The Dove Family-Approved Seal", is an inspirational and intriguing faith-filled family drama about 5 people who are brought faced to face with Jesus and encouraged to examine the true condition of their lives. MPAA Rating: NOTRATED 2010 Pure Flix Entertainment

At first glance, I expected one of those cheap Christian flicks with questionable theological implications. However, " The Encounter" was unexpectedly quite wholesome in its theology and approach to the message of Jesus to salvation.

There are some intense questions asked the Jesus character in this movie. Deep questions that speak to most anybody. And just about everybody can relate to one of the characters. The actor who plays Jesus, gave up his acting career in Hollywood and started his own Christian movie company. This was one of the products of that call - Pureflix. Watch this movie, it'll change you.

It's not the best movie ever, so if you're looking for the next citizen kane you'll be disappointed. However, certain elements came together to make a fun and thought provoking movie. Enjoyed it for what it was.
