Touching and Poignant Being the first movie in the trilogy, I think that the cinematography of The Falls is a little rougher than the subsequent films. However, its meaning is huge! I feel that a rival film, Latter Days, was more publicized but less successful in its presentation of the struggle between one's sexuality and religion. I believe that The Falls has more heart and truth behind it. The film goes beyond a gay or bisexual man's fantasy of a Mormon man and reveals the tribulations of a love which is prohibited by religion and, at times, oneself.
