Jack Bowers should do a little research, this movie is "NOT" just about a small town kid who gets a lucky chance at a top tier fighter, and beats him. It's about Micky Ward. If you never seen his fights with Arturo Gatti, I suggest watching them first, then watching this movie. It was never mentioned but anyone who knows ANYTHING about boxing knows the story. Great movie, In My Opinion.

A small town guy who gets the chance to go up against a big name fighter and was lucky enough to beat the Fighter.

On my top 10 favorite movies of all time list! Mark Wahlberg played the part perfectly and ☆Christian Bale's role as Dicky, trainer and crackhead, was the best actor I have ever seen☆ All the actors, directors, writers, and everyone responsible for this movie was/is awesome!
