Due to a freak electrical storm, the USS Nimitz, the world's largest nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, is transported back to December 6, 1941, in time to head off the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. As the fateful hour grows near, the ship's commanders must wrestle with the moral and ethical dilemmas of interfering with the progress of history.

This movie is way underrated...The premise is great and it was put together very well. I only wish it could've been expanded to see what would've happened if this ship with its attack force DID actually prevent the attack on Pearl Harbor. Now that would've made a helluva sequel if the Nimitz never made it back, stopped the attack, and the United States military leapfrogged that many years in technical knowledge due to an aircraft carrier appearing 40 years from the future.

Absolutely one of my favorites sci-fi movies. Classic actors, original storyline. It'd be cool to see a reboot of this classic film.

Just imagine, what if a carrier of the line was in that scenario? How would've the world turned out be now? Would the world be better off or not? Hard to say.
